January 27th is the first FULL MOON of 2013. The moon, which is in Leo, can affect your mood and your mind thought, which in turn writes several scripts, beginnings, middles and endings, at the workplace and your love life. Although this moon is called the Wolf Moon, Leo is a take control, get it done kind and so instead of feeling as if your claws are coming out and you are ready to rip someone’s head off, you should feel calm and relaxed. With the prime Full Moon date landing on Sunday, it makes it a perfect time to do something low key like meeting girlfriends and watching the newest chick flick or hang out at home with a pizza and glass of wine.
Full Moons tend to make many feel emotional and sometimes weepy, and the January Full Moon often makes us hard on ourselves for what we didn’t accomplish through our New Year intentions. We are going to lose that weight. We are going to find our perfect mate. We are going to make tons of money. By the middle of January when the gym membership was used only once, we are still sitting on the couch eating corn puffs on Saturday evening and our bank account status hasn’t changed, frustration sets in and we give up.
As if it being Friday wasn’t enough to celebrate, it’s January 11th too! Wait, you don’t know why I would bake cupcakes and throw confetti for the great January 11th 2021? HAPPY NEW MOON!!! Wait, you still don’t know why all the fuss? Let me be your new moon informant!
A New Moon, or Dark Moon, since you actually won’t see any moon, occurs once a month (sometimes two, but I don’t want to completely confuse you or force you to make more cupcakes than you have to). The New Moon is the darkest phase of the Moon, but it also marks the beginning of the two-week time frame when the Moon moves away from the Sun and increases in light and this is the BEST time to begin new projects, new love, new careers or anything else new you want to do (or are afraid to do)! This New Moon is the first of the year, and it begins on the 11th at 2:44 p.m. EST, which numerically is special because the 1s (for 1/11) are new beginnings and the sequence of 4s in the time is an extra oomph of angel love.
Being that this New Moon is the first of the year, and is in the sign of Capricorn, this is a super time for you to look over your goals, your resolutions and intentions that you set a couple weeks ago and spend time thinking and meditating on new beginnings rather than what hasn’t been working for you. So, don’t beat yourself up if you were going to organize your sock drawer and instead caught up on episodes of “Downton Abbey”, there is still time to make a magical transformation!
Here are some good exercises for you to do after the 2:44 p.m. EST New Moon!
We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.

Happy 2013! I bet a lot of you are wondering where 2012 went, I know that I am! How do you control your year? Your day? Your hour? By first making the conscious choice to do just that and then creating a strategy, taking action and continue taking action is the magic formula to feeling grounded and in control.
