Dating & Hookup is a multimedia project co-created by childhood best friends-turned-business partners, Jessica Donalds & Rebecca Wiegand Coale – aka Jess & Becky. The project has been featured on Bethenny, Good Afternoon America, VH1, The Better Show, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, The Village Voice, Cosmo Radio, Entertainment Weekly, Mashable and Z100 among other press outlets.
Online, Dating & Hookup explores the landscape of modern romance in the Millennial era – which, let’s be honest, looks nothing like we were taught to expect. We feature essays, advice and social commentary with humor, compassion and brains. And, we vow never, ever to publish a piece called “The 10 Best Ways to Satisfy Your Man in Bed.”
Visit J&R Creative Media for more information.
Rebecca Wiegand Coale (left) has worked in New York media for the past seven years: in publicity at W. W. Norton & Company, as a research assistant to a journalist/novelist, and subsequently in development and book adaptation at the film studio, New Line Cinema. Currently, as a partner at J&R, she oversees company operations and guides select initiatives. She also blogs about modern womanhood, love poetry and her post-dating escapades.
She graduated with a B.A. in Humanities with distinction from Yale, where she conducted independent research on medieval art and queenship under the tutelage of Professor Paul Freedman, for which she received two fellowships.
Rebecca is an avid musician and songwriter and is currently writing two novels, one about the current post-dating world and another about medieval Europe. Her short story “A One Night Stand in Brooklyn” was recently published in VIXOTICA: Sexy Short Stories by the Best-Selling Erotica Authors.
She lives in Manhattan & Philadelphia with her husband and their family.

Jessica Donalds (right) has always been a fan of winding paths and took one on her way to becoming the co-creator of Dating & Hookup and a partner at J&R. She spent her first few years out of college traveling the world and doing odd jobs in the French countryside, Greek fishing villages, and streets of Milan. She then returned to the US, where she worked in the music industry and held positions in radio at Interscope Records and PR and new business development at boutique firm Press Here. Previously, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Highest Honors from Harvard University with a B.A. in Psychology and a citation in French, conducting fieldwork in Social Psychology involving hundreds of participants in the process.
Jessica has always had an uncanny knack for counseling her friends and family in the ways of love – which led her to authoring her first book, Dating & Hookup: How the Guys You Know Will Help You Find the Love You Want. Dating & Hookup explores modern romance from both a zeitgeist and self-help perspective, drawing on the 100+ in-depth interviews that Jessica conducted with young women and men all over the United States. Her work and opinions have been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Elle, CNN.com, The Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, Yahoo! Shine, Cosmopolitan.com and the UK’s Men’s Health and Glamour.com, among others.
Jessica is 29 years old and lives in Manhattan.

Alison Steedman has been working in entertainment and creative industries since her seasonal stint at age 14 as the Easter Bunny at Outlet Marketplace Mall in Fort Mill, SC.
With no where to go but up from there, she trekked onwards through writing workshops at Duke University, The New York State Writers Institute, The New School, The 92nd Street Y and James Madison University, where she graduated in 2004 with a BA in Media and a minor in Creative Writing. She has studied writing with Amy Hempel, Lee K. Abbot, Lucy Corin, John Reed, Norman Rush and Fiona Maazel. Her work has been published digitally on The Good Men Project, in print bestsellers (as Someone Famous for whom she’s ghost written), and in the luscious velvet caverns of her heart.
In her career over the last decade, she has managed brands, handled marketing or curated creative content for James Patterson, Hachette Book Group, Scholastic, SundanceNow, the PBS children’s TV show Raggs and Samuel Goldwyn Films.
Her great loves / tragic flaws include biscuits, ponies, offering to cook and replying-all. As of January 2012 she lives in Studio City, CA with her partner Brad Pitt, but misses her former home of Brooklyn, NY every day. Follow her on Twitter or Instagram @yosteedman if you want to make her smile.
